Mum

The drawing is from 2010 of a woman in a former care home of Mum's, written about here.

Mum passed away a couple of weeks ago while I was in London visiting her for her birthday. She wouldn't want me to write about her but she was a very sweet, gentle person and she will be greatly missed.

Thanks so much Bonny. Yes, that's true, and the memories are comforting - I think of her as she was throughout her life and not just as she was in the home and later life. She has become whole again, in a sense.

I am so sorry to hear of your tremendous loss. There are so many emotions at a time like this, and they are all very important. I just want to assure you that she is not gone...do not grieve about that. She will truly live in your heart from this day forward. I wish I could have been sure of that when I lost my Mom, but let me assure you now, your mum is not gone. XOXO

Sorry to hear, Felicity - thought you'd been more quiet than usual. I like what you say about your mum being made whole again. Hope those thoughts help ease your loss.

Thanks very much Bridget. So many people in homes seem to spend many hours even years just sitting, waiting in chairs like this.

Thank you Sylvaine.

Thank you Folk Heart. Yes, memories are a huge comfort and so important.

Thanks very much Sheila.
