Just to re-cap, I'm trying to fill up a sketchbook that has had only one drawing in it for a couple of years. I'm calling it my 'random sketches' sketchbook. I don't want to get bogged down trying to make it look good but fill it with anything and everything that takes my fancy. The length of time this might take me weighs on my mind though, so imagine my horror when I was going through my shelves looking to see what else I might have and found that I had actually bought two of these sketchbooks!
Ziggy is the last drawing I put in it and it was way more detailed than I intended. So it gave me an idea for the second sketchbook - I'm going to put doodles in it! The strange thing is, when I start doodling, I want to draw. So I have one page of doodles, one page of leafy designs, and now these drawings! I have one page which I started to doodle on then I've added little things over the days. I love this idea of having a book where it can contain anything, where even a shopping list might go. I've found it really liberating so far. A daily doodle is like a little daily exercise it really does keep the drawing muscles from seizing up!
