Ziggy is the last drawing I put in it and it was way more detailed than I intended. So it gave me an idea for the second sketchbook - I'm going to put doodles in it! The strange thing is, when I start doodling, I want to draw. So I have one page of doodles, one page of leafy designs, and now these drawings! I have one page which I started to doodle on then I've added little things over the days. I love this idea of having a book where it can contain anything, where even a shopping list might go. I've found it really liberating so far. A daily doodle is like a little daily exercise it really does keep the drawing muscles from seizing up!
These sparrows were drawn from some photos I took. The drawing of the peony seed heads was done this weekend in the garden. I love their shape, they remind me of jester's hats!

Beautiful sketches, Felicity! You are so skilled at what you do.
I like an 'anything goes' sketchbook too and I'm trying to phase out my specific genre ones as, like you, I end up with only one or two sketches in them over the span of a year.
Have a great week,
Serena
Beautiful sketches! That sounds like a good idea--having a doodle book, too. Whatever works to get these great sketches. ;)
Thanks Serena! I have quite a few specific ones - something had to be done!
Thanks Rita! Yes, I thought it was a good idea - I don't get many of those! ;) Don't know why I hadn't thought of it before because it's really fun to fill and takes away that need for drawings to be 'good'.
Oh, I love your bird photos, Felicity and now I love your bird sketches. Wonderful.
Great to see you using an everyday sketchbook. I've just bought myself an A4 one to take to France because I'll be sketching with the big girls. :)
Thanks Robyn! Oh A4! I think that would look massive to me now, I've been using quite small sketchbooks for too long! Can't wait to see what you all get up to! ;)
