A modest little sketch I did on the walk last weekend. Not much to look at, admittedly, but I'm always chuffed when I manage an outdoor sketch and pleased too that it's done on the first page of my new little Green & Stone sketchbook. In keeping with it's old fashioned feel, I'm going to allow myself to do some good old fashioned simple sketches in it.
Is anyone else having trouble with the new Blogger template? It seems to take forever to get the text to align left and drawing and text swap places when I switch between compose and edit!

I'd say that's more than a 'simple sketch.' I really like it as a drawing. It has a postcard feel to it. Very neat and clean and precise in the details and shading. Very nice!
I agree with Elizabeth, there is much more to this page than 'a modest drawing'. This wonderful!!! I should say you are chuffed to have this as an opening page to your new sketch jurnal. It really is quite good, as all of your art work tends to be :))
I'm being stubborn and sticking with the old blogger template I've always used. I say don't try to fix it if it ain't broke, and the way I originally set my blog up suited me then, suits me fine and doesn't give me composition problems.
Yes, a lovely little sketch. We must get over the feeling that a sketchbook is "special" and can only be used for certain kinds of sketches, just like we must get over that certain fabrics are too precious to cut up and use in a quilt. I'm making progress on both counts.
Thanks Elizabeth and Bonny! I don't normally like drawing trees but I'm quite pleased with these especially, probably, because I didn't fuss over detail.
Thanks Sheila. I think the old template worked just fine and this one should be simpler but they seem to have not ironed out some basic problems. One improvement is that I don't have to fight with huge gaps between text and photo which I always had. Now it spaces automatically (and correctly). That problem seemed to be unique to my blog as no-one else had the same issue. I think every update of software comes with a new set of problems in attempted to sort out the old. Much preferred the older versions of Photoshop for example.
Oh, don't mention fabric! ;) I'm seriously considering selling some of my stash as the guilt is too much! I have uncut precious fabrics I really think may never be used. Such a waste!
Yes, it's a lovely sketch, Felicity. It looks simple but there's clearly a lot of work in there!
Can't help on the blog template I'm afraid, haven't ventured into that new territory yet!
Your sketch is wonderful, Felicity! Lovely and relaxed.
I haven't had any trouble with the new blogger template so far. Maybe Blogger was just having a glitch at the time you were composing your post? It sounds more like it's a Post Editor problem, not a template issue. Did you elect for the new Draft.Blogger to be your Default dashboard page? I'm not sure if it would make a difference but be sure that you are composing your posts via the New Post link in the Draft.Blogger Dashboard page. Good luck!
