Sketchercise

Drawing in public and drawing buildings will probably never feature in my top 10 list of favourite things to do. But since almost everything else moves, I'm going to have to get over it if I'm going to remain a member of the Sketchercise group! For the first sketch, above, I went for an easy option - a local church which is always quiet. It's the Rumanian church I blogged about here, back in 2006.

Being a little braver later in the week, I sketched the roof of a public building in Place Favre. This was a real feat of endurance as I had rather foolishly picked a bench out in the blazing sunshine on a day when it must have been 32C +!

Nice sketches, Felicity. Who would know you did one of them under more than 30`C. No trace of sweat there ;O)
Just kidding, they're really lovely.
Best regards,
Carolina

I like these church tops and admire your ability to simplify and not try to do the whole church, and everything on the street in front of them like I end up doing. I need to get back to my sketchercize and posting to the group. Thanks for the inspiration.

These are lovely, Felicity - your wonderfully precise style suits the subject. But how long did you spend in front of them - it would have taken me hours and I'd never get any exercise.......

Thanks ladies!

Jana, that was becuase I didn't judge the size very well! ;)

Casey, I was too nervous to notice with the second one but it was probably 10 or 15 mins! I had more time at the church, sitting in the shade and no-one about, probably about 30 mins. I had trouble with the perspective of that steeple!

Oh, Felcity, I'm with you here. Definately nowhere near top of my list, either of them. I too am trying to push myself though, especially with some of the projects I have coming up. I'm getting out there but am not ready to share any of the results. Yet.

Yours are great. I'd be more than happy to post these.
