The third of the three portraits. There is quite a bit more I could do to this but I decided the face was good enough and I might possibly ruin it if I mess around any more. The hair could certainly do with more work especially to put more darks in but I don't think this paper can take any more! This sketchbook is feeling too small now so I'm starting on one of the larger ones, bought in London. The paper will be different so it will be interesting to find out if it is any less or any more challanging than this one.

Don't be so hard on yourself Felicity. I think it's great! In your video I was wondering what you were planning on doing with the top of the head. Love the red cap.
ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING, FELICITY! She literally jumps off the screen! I think her hair is just perfect -- any more would take away from the life in those incredible eyes!! Take a bow, Cara.... this is brilliant! Happy Mom's Day to a phenomenal artist!
It's amazing how much life and vibrancy you capture in your portraits, while at the same time they're subtle; you see the person not the technique. This series is wonderful. I watched the video too, and it was interesting see how colored pencil is properly handled. It requires great patience, I see.
Hi Felicity,
The face is more than good enough, in mho, of course. I really like how it turned out, the actress herself should look at these paintings, she'll feel so proud!
I love everything you've done on the face, but the eyes are outstanding. You have so much art in your hands...
I love how you have managed to capture the subtle skin tones, wonderful portrait, I looked back through your work and was quite fascinated by your choice of people. I also like the softness of the cap, I would imagine that would have been quite difficult to achieve.
