Red cap at the Forbidden City

There were a few men standing around outside the entrance wearing red caps watching the crowds. Sometimes tourist groups wear these so they recognise each other but the men I saw wearing them looked like they were there to keep on eye on everyone.

I wasn't that inspired by the reference I used but quite often it makes a better drawing than a photo, and it was still interesting to do. There are a few things I'm not that happy with but I don't want to work too much on this as once the face is done I tend to lose interest. I've blogged about the process and the pencils used on my other blog, Sketches by Fiz.

Great work. I also use to lose interest after making the face, so I often make the rest much more loose as if it was intentional (and not a trick to hide i want to finish). But it often helps since in this way the main-characteristic-psychological areas got underlined.

NO. Nope, no idea how you do this. Amazing. As always.

This is really quite good! I often make the face last to keep from losing interest. I do all the stuff that I least like to render first. By saving the best for last it gives you something to look forward to.
