A few things I'm very grateful for but also wish I didn't need! After family and health, the Imigran tablets for my migraines are probably next on the list. I know it's boring to bang on about them but when you suffer with migraines, they do affect everything you do. I still remember the very first time I took one of these, in Dubai. We had just moved there and got private health care. It was like rising from the grave and seeing a day you never thought you'd see - an amazing experience. I'm grateful for every day I get to claim back whenever I take these. However, I still hold a grudge against my previous doctor for not telling me about them and letting me suffer when I had two small children to look after!
The foundation is not such a big deal but I'm grateful for anything that makes me look half decent! Again, it's one of those items that keeps getting updated and changed and I have yet to find one to replace the Lancome one I preferred, years ago. It seemed to suit in summer and winter whereas now I'm like a chemist, trying to mix different concoctions to suit as the seasons change and tan fades.
Thankfully, I have no problem with tweezers now Tweezerman tweezers have been invented! Best thing since sliced bread and they have been widely copied too. I used to hang on to one pair for dear life, like my old styling brush, as good tweezers were impossible to find. In the seventies I had those pencil thin eyebrows that were in fashion. They came back in during the nineties in a slightly thicker, more groomed version and my eyebrows have never recovered since. So as I can't go natural, that's it, I'm destined to pluck!

Felicity -- I am so glad this medicine helps! My mom and sisters and now my son suffer horribly from migranes -- I remember seeing my mom in such agony, under the covers, room darkened, everyone tip-toeing around -- and those episodes could last for days! So grateful with you! LOVE the sketches, Felicity! I'm one of those hanger-ons for the 60s and 70s -- natural -- my eyebrows SHOULD be plucked but I cut them back -- not worth the pain of plucking! LOL And the grey is taking over more and more and I may consider a cover up -- some time -- not yet ... but oh am I a slave to perms .. .my stick-straight hair sits so flat on my head! LOL
You are the queen of shading - great work! Get Well!
Beautiful drawings of such necessary things. I gave up plucking and perming long ago.
Thank goodness you found relief for your migraines!!
Beautiful drawings! I´m glad you found the Imigran, I know many use that here too.
I have migraines too, but oddly enough, once the flickering in my eyes ends (I HATE that), the headache isn´t that bad at all. Rarely requires even an Aspirin. It used to be a bit worse some years back. That´s something I´m grateful for, but I don´t know how to draw it. ;)
Thanks so much everyone!
Lin, my mother too. It's just as bad to watch someone else suffer, isn't it? Flat straight hair - me too! Hate how that feels, I'd be lost without my hairdryer! Hmm, another thing to draw!
Another amazing drawing, Felicity. I'm so sorry you have migraines, but thank goodness there is a solution! I can't even live with a normal headache - I pop a couple of Exedrin whenever I feel the slightest one coming on.
This is superb felicity. What siza are your drawings, they don't seem to enlarge - I'm not sure whether that is something you do in the scanning process or that they are actaully this small. I cannot believe you could include so much detail in such small images though.
I have to pencil my eyeborws in due to them being SO fair, they are actually white. It's a pain but I look like an alien without them! Another bloody brillaint drawing (you must feel terrible pressure to mantain this standard) and possibly the best post title I've ever read.
(BTW, you were right the answer to my suitcase drawing was James May. This week he won Heat magazine's Weird Crush Poll! Perhaps I don't have such an odd taste in men after all?!)
Casey thanks! I'm a wimp with headaches too believe it or not!
Andrea, LOL, thanks! I wondered if anyone would comment on the title - maybe it's a Brit thing like James May! Yes, I did notice and I was all puffed up with pride all that day!! I taped the wine programme and saw it for the first time yesterday (I normally see him on Top Gear) and he was SO funny! He's definitely growing on me!
The drawing is 4ins by 4ins edge to edge of graphite. I keep the scans small so they can't be copied - about 5-10 cms wide usually, 20cm max. And hey, I've never seen your standard slip! ;)
Wonderful drawing and wonderful meds! I'm so glad you found something that works for your migraines. My eyebrows seem to be disappearing and my eyelashes, I was shocked to notice in the latest insult of aging, are half missing and what's there is half length. What's next! (don't tell me!).
