EDM # 61 is a grouping of similar objects. This fits in nicely with my desire to record things that we are using and wearing etc. I finally got myself a mobile last week (that small cheap thing on the right) and happened to say it to one of the family who sent me their old handset (on the left). I couldn't believe how cheap and nasty that Nokia was, it looked like a toy, but I only need a phone to keep in my bag and use very occasionally so it wasn't of great importance but I like the hand-me-down Motorola (left) so I switched chips and now use that one. It's really easy to use, has a camera (which I'll probably never use!) and the design means I won't accidentally hit buttons and run up phone bills!Secretly, I have a love of gadgets but I try not to succumb to it so I haven't fully investigated what Mark's Sony Ericsson (top) can do because I know my life will then feel empty without it! Ignorance is bliss where gadgets and I are concerned!
Ignorance is not something Paul could be accused of, he's been on a learning curve this week having bought a computer made up of his own specifications that he's been building himself! Must be something in the genes. Reminds me when I first met Mark and he had a sound system he built himself (no, those Mission speakers don't sound any better to me, sorry!) I wonder what it is that makes tinkering more appealing to men than woman?
In other news (or rather trivia) winter still hasn't arrived here. In fact, since the new year I've noticed birds are singing and active, the cats have started patrolling again, trees are showing signs of buds and the shops are selling tulips already! Now I have something new to worry about - that summer could be a scorcher!

Felicity!! My feet are freezing -- YOU BLEW OFF MY SOCKS AGAIN! Holy Moley woman, you do some incredibly AWESOME, downright stunning work! The plug (on FLICKR) and these 'toys' -- OUTSTANDING!!!! Each has a gentleness and line that shows the care you take with each and every item. BRAVA! BRAVA! BRAVA!
These all look so tidy and serene somehow. It is so true that we pour ourselves into our artwork---you've Felicitied (Felicitated? ;D) these objects so well, that no one would mistake them as drawn by anyone else.
Laur(elines)
I have to agree with Laura, your work is easily recognizable. These are great!
Wow! Stunning drawings Felicity!
How true, I would recognize your gorgeous work anywhere!! Stunning as always.
Wow, wow and wow again. Laura's so right. You've certainly Felicitated these phones. Wonderful.
beautiful drawings!!!
Its been very hot here in Australia - longing for some cooler weather....
:-) Felicitated? Felicitized? Laura is right, though -- your drawings are immediately recognizable as being done by no one other than you! I don't know how you do such detailed work while making it look so effortless (and never overworked). Great stuff!
I agree with everyone! Honestly, when your blog came up I thought for a minute it was a b/w photo! This is absolutely perfect - every single line.
There's something so clear, direct and precise about your drawings and yet there's always personality in them too, whether cats, dogs, people or gadgets. Your two phones look sort of like strangers while Mark's looks familiar, well-used, like a comfy old chair or pair of shoes.
Such nice work! You've really got it down... and they're right, you can immediately see that it's a Felicity drawing!
