A rare glimpse of the cobbled stones! It was difficult to get good photos here as most of the time I was elbowed by the crowds.

These beans reminded me of the unusual beans I'd seen in southern Italy. Could they be Italian?

Huge big cheeses! I really should have tasted some.

I was concentrating on taking photos rather than looking for things to buy as we didn't have many Euros on us and I wasn't expecting to see all the things we did. My cousin bought a few of the breadsticks you see in this photo and it wasn't until later when Paul and Alex said how good it tasted (it had ham and cheese mixed into the dough) that I started to regret this! And the prices are so cheap compared to Geneva!

An old bag by the bags! That guy must be seven feet tall but then again, I am one of the few people who enjoys leg room in economy class!

Cracking cheese Gromit!

What an amazing range of breads. Living near this market must be absolute heaven! Paul said it must be torture for the people whose windows overlook the stalls with the wonderful smells that must waft up!

And the meats! These ones are modestly dressed in pink knickers! If my French is correct they are called 'cousin's bums'!

These looked great so I took the photo then spotted the sausages that the man on the end was cutting.

I'd never seen anything like these so I had to taste and it was so yummy that yes, dear reader, I bought one! It says on the label 'Saucisson sec - Pur porc. Tradition Artisanale' and it's flavoured with Myrtilles. Yesterday I brought it in to show my French teacher (we always laugh so much, I wonder if I learn any French but I've learned more with her so far than all the years of French at school!) I hestitate to show my ignorance when I'm blogging about things French and Swiss but in fact she had never heard of the Sunday market at Annecy and hadn't seen a sausage like this either. Saucission sec (pronounced saw-see-sawn sek) is dried sausage. Mark said it was fortunate I didn't have to ask for six!
Blogger won't let me put any more photos on, so tomorrow there will be more!

What wonderful market photos!
What fabulous photos, Felicity! Almost makes me wish we were leaving earlier. By the time we get to Italy for Christmas, there will probably be snow. Likely it will be a bit different from the photos you've been posting.
Thanks for sharing!
