I'll try and resist the cheese and ham jokes. I spotted Rupert's face beaming from the front page of a free daily and couldn't resist - look at that smile! I always thought he was intimidating but this is scary! Now, where shall I put this drawing so it doesn't ruin a sketchbook? Ah, of course, the Moleskine. Perfect combination! In fact, I'm going to save this book for any more cheesy hams (oops) and diamonte stars I can't resist!Funnily enough, I couldn't get Steve Harley's Mr Soft out of my head when I was drawing this. And while I Googled that I also found this - a photo obviously taken on the same day as the one I drew from. Just goes to show what fame does to you.
I was drawing something completely different when Rupert's grin beckoned - promise something less frightening next time!

Honey -- you could sketch Lucifer and still have the most incredibly awesome sketches!! Your work is beyond incredible, Felicity -- GLORIOUSLY done -- fine lines, values, shadings, perfect rendering!! BRAVA! BRAVA! BRAVA!
lol. no worries. this is a great drawing as always.
oh and my phobia. my mother use to tell me when i was small to keep my feet covered when i sleep. otherwise, little, limb-less people with funny hair from under the bed will come out and bite my toes off. im sure this is funny and all, but to this day i cannot sleep unless my feet are covered.
im convinced this was one of the major reasons why i grea up creative... and a little paranoid :)
Wonderful likeness and a very funny post. You have such a gift with portraits. I love the quality of your line.
I have no idea who this person is, but as always your technique is the star event! :o)
I went to the link and was amazed at the transformation - he must have spent a fortune on plastic surgery. Your sketch is an incredible likeness, but I agree that he has a seriously worrying expression - I get the impression he's laughing with/at someone, enjoying their joke, but only because he's going to murder them a bit later on!
I love the humor in this one. You captured his expression so well!
You just always knock my socks off with your awesome art!! Gorgeous, although I'm assuming this guy is not one of your favorites.
I'm not familiar with this actor, but your drawing so perfectly captures the stereotype of a smooth and sleazy guy. The link to Bad Plastic Surgery blog is pretty funny (and sad)!
Wow Rupert was such a handsome guy. I loved him in the movie "Unconditional Love" with Kathy Bates. He was hysterical in that movie, & such eye candy. Your skeck is great, just wish he hadn't messed with his face!
