I can't believe it - I'm actually happy with this one! I think this looks exactly like me (in mirror image) although it may be an iddy, widdy, teensy, weeny bit flattering! Well, blotchy skin and saggy bits are not easy to draw y'know! I did include a deep wrinkle I have between the eyes from squinting in the sun, a scar on the chin and my strange ear - I have one ear without a curled edge. Mark calls it my Romulan ear as he's a Trekkie! I think I might use it to replace that old profile photo. It's interesting how many bloggers don't have photos of themselves in their profiles, no doubt for good reasons, but I prefer to see a face, otherwise I have trouble remembering whose is whose. I really admire those illustrated blogs that have a drawing of themselves but I didn't think I'd be able to do one I liked. Now I just need to find a cat to pose on my shoulder!

WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FANTASTICGORGEMENTOUS!!!!!!!!!!
fantabulous -- not only in drawing skill, but also in capturing that essence of a real person there. to top it off - you're quite beautiful as a subject to draw as well. funny how we always see ourselves as different than other people see us. i am constantly amazed at what my husband tells me he sees when he looks at me! wish i could see me through 'those' eyes!
love your blog and i check it regularly. your drawing/shading has been such an inspiration and help to me as a learner. i'm still working on a picture of my son and granddaughter and everytime i work on it, i think of you when you said, "i just kept fiddling with it and adding a little more here and a little more there . . . " and that gives me inspiration to keep working those little details until i'm happy (or happier, at least) with the work as a whole.
i haven't updated my blog in a while, but hope to do that this week. if you have time this weekend, drop in and see what new things i've added (http://www.mapleleafartistry.blogspot.com).
thanks again for all of your inspiration over that last many months!
Simply superb Felicity!!!!!! You should use this as your blogger photo!
your portrait series is excellent - very skillfully done. I think you'll be glad for this collection when you've completed the marathon. great work, Felicity!
Felicity - I have to say some of the letters are fairly logical - like that E ?!?!? but most of them I have to follow Tonya's instructions on Bonnie's Quiltville site - good fun though and as I go along I am getting better :o)
Yes make it your blogger picture - you must be warm enough now to take off that red jacket! Lovely drawing and it was fascinating to read in EDM that you're being less perfectionist about your work, I'm sure it's a positive direction to head in.
Wonderful! You are beautiful and the portrait is so full of personality ... this SHOULD be on your blogger profile!
Yes, beautiful - this one has a really light touch to it. And I love your other stories and photos about the ornaments, hedgehog and workshop - how amazing.
Oh this is good. You have great drawing skills,Felicity. And thank you so much for your kind word. I like the look of your blog very much and I will definitely be back ..
This is brilliant Felicity!! Wow you sure can draw. Such talent. I really admire your skill. :o) I think this would make a great ID photo for your blog! :o)
I have to agree with everyone else you should use this for your blogger photo. You seem to have captured just the right amount of detail. I like it.
Great looking portrait, Felicity!
Had to look twice though, to make ure it was really you. I don't recall seeing you with glasses on before this. That sort of surprised me.
I love all your drawings.. but you know that already :)
