This is Paul (aka DS1!) When I showed this to Alex he said 'that does NOT look like Paul!'. I didn't tell him it was Paul so how did he know?! I like this even though I've made him look quite hard. He's actually looking intently at a screen choosing cars for a PlayStation game - he takes his cars very seriously!

The sink in the apartment. I did this originally for an EDM challenge but it's so dull I've decideded not include it! The kitchen is modern and featureless compared to the rest of the apartment. The door under the sink is hanging off it's hinges and rests against the dishwasher. I'll look back at this drawing and be glad I've left this apartment!

A very quick sketch of a Smart car seen from my balcony. I'm trying to speed up with my sketches and just as I was drawing this someone got in it and drove off! I mentioned when I was in Kuwait that 2006 would be the year of the Hummer. In Geneva it would have to be a Smart car, they're very popular here.

Felicity - with skills like this you should not be shy about drawing in public. I take a Moleskine and a clutch pencil and sit against the wall in a coffee shop. With coffee and cake in front of you, you have the appearance of belonging there, so off you go. People in a cafe also cooperate by sitting still long enough to be good subjects. Go for it and good luck.

Felicity, its so nice to see these quiet moments in your life. I love your sink story although I'm sorry you have to have such a junky sink.
Cheers
NICELY NICELY DONE, Felicity!! I rented a smart car when I toured Sicily -- what neat cars!!! I have to agree with Robyn -- with your skills -- I'd be standing on the street corners sketching to my hearts content -- mindless of everything but the joy of sketching!
I love the expression of concentration.
I'm fascinated that my preconceptions of Swiss living have been shattered! The aspects of disintegration that you describe in your apartment is much nearer to my memories of French hotels in the 60s and 70s. However, you did say that you were just a stroll away from France.
Thnaks for the comments! Omega, I feel that we are so close to France that it is more like living there than Switzerland. Certainly Swiss efficiency has been (for the most part)something of a myth!
Another great job Felcity! You are the master of pencil sketches! I love your work.
Felicity, I just wanted to add my 2 cents to your public delima. I found when I first started that I worried that people would judge my work. But I just did it anyway and one time I was in the middle of downtown Chicago at lunch time...swarms of people...drawing away and NO ONE EVEN LOOKED AT MY WORK! Most people are really consumed by thier own stuff...including me! I figured life is too short to skip doing what I really want. Just tell that old inner critic to take a nap while you go out! Find a quiet place and once you get in the drawing zone, you won't care who's around!! You are going to have so much fun once you can do this!!!!
I like all three, but I really like Paul's portrait! It is very good!!
Felicity, you are tagged.
