Do take a seat...

There is some wonderful old furniture all over Kuwait. I'm probably a bit odd but I've always found the concept of furniture funny so I find the really tatty stuff very amusing! I get the strangest look from people when I'm taking photos of water dispensers so I'll be locked up if anyone sees me taking armchairs!

I'm not sure but maybe this tent is used by the builders of the house behind.

I like these two! They look like an old married couple, her with her black dress and pearls and him the worse for wear. (OK, I'm definitely a bit odd!)

I do like your photos of chairs - they have great character. I have collected pictures of chairs myself in the past, vaguely thinking of making some work from them. However, I provided people for the chairs, then took the chairs away and am very happy with the remaining couple in the finished work! In my case the chairs were obviously a means to an end.
Your observations are fascinating, and I eagerly await each new contribution.

Thanks very much Omega! (I'm not able to reply individually to comments by email at the moment - it may be the settings haven't accepted my new email address).

I too think the chairs are hilarious. Your description of him 'n' her are so apt and funny. Pity their children aren't around -you know a couple of socially dysfunctional footstools or something.

The little black chair with pearls--hilarious!

I've drawn all the chairs in my house--makes a great range of exercises in texture and perspective! Wicker, rattan, leather, wood, fabric--and they sit still so nicely for sketching.

In the top photo, what's the green thing in the trees?

I think the furniture is funny too. I love anything that is out of place, seeing it in a different context.
